Portable        Non-Toxic        Re-usable        Instant Heat

Environmentally Friendly

Your heat-pod works like this:

Activation:

With your heat-pod in its 'liquid' state, find the small metal activator piece floating in the Sodium Acetate Solution.  Grasp the metal piece between your thumb and forefinger and 'click' or 'snap' to activate the heat releasing chemical reaction.  Many times just the motion of trying to 'click' the activator will produce the needed spark to set the reaction in motion.

Once activated, it will take between 15-20 seconds for all of the solution to crystallize and produce heat up to 130 degrees F.  Please note - there are variables that realistically will keep the temperature closer to 127 degrees F.  Room or air temperature and actual temperature of your heat-pod before activating are a couple of these variables.

The smaller heat-pod (4") will provide heat for 20-30 minutes, depending on how well it is insulated.  Your larger heat-pod (6") will provide heat for 50-60 minutes, depending on how well it is insulated.

Re-activation:

Once your heat-pod has lost its heat, you will notice that the solution has hardened.  To re-activate your   heat-pod, do the following . . .

Using a teflon coated pan/pot, bring some water barely to a boil.  (If you have an older tin or other type surface that is not teflon coated, place a dish towel on the bottom of the pan/pot before putting the pod(s) in the hot water.)  Reduce the heat to medium.  Now, carefully put your heat-pod(s) into the boiling water (use tongs or similar).  Set the timer for eight (8) minutes.  After eight minutes, check to see that your pod(s) solution has returned to its liquid form.  Turn off the heat and move the pan/pot to a different spot on your stove top.

Please note:  The boiling time of eight minutes mentioned above is fairly accurate for 3-4 heat-pods.  Also, please make sure that the hardened Sodium Acetate solution (inside your heat-pod) has completely re-liquified after boiling.  It only takes one crystal to set the reaction in motion.  If you find (after boiling for eight minutes) that one of your pods still has a few crystals, boil for a little longer.

Let your pod(s) sit in the (still) hot water for 30-35 minutes.  Then remove your heat-pod(s) from the warm water and place on a kitchen towel to dry and return to room temperature.  Your amazing heat-pod(s) are now ready to be used again!
